Preparing the space
what to include:
- Tables set with handmade mats from week 1, decorated centre-pieces or trees from week 4, stars, and symbols of the season.
- Edible treats – ‘on the journey’ treats from week 1,
angel sandwiches week 2,
star biscuits week 3
and chocolate logs week 4. - Tea served in the brought-and-loved teacups.
- The Christmas crib displayed as a journey of creativity and wonder.
- Each group shares something from their Advent journey
– an insight, an object, a memory. Optional extras - Carol singing or background music
Activities for the CreativiTEA
“What would you ask Mary?” reflection board.
You will need:
- Prepared reflection board using pictures.Christmas cards including Mary.
- Post it notes
- Pens
Instructions:
Create a display of Christmas cards/pictures with images of Mary from the Christmas story, the annunciation, travelling with Joseph and the donkey to Bethlehem, asking for room, finding the stable, the birth and surrounded by shepherds, kings, Joseph and the stable animals.
Write questions on post it notes.
This display can be left up and revisited after Christmas thinking of questions for Mary a events unfold following Epiphany and the escape to Egypt.
CreativiTEA fun!

Cone paper hats
You will need:
- A3 paper
- Pens for decorating
- Ribbons for decorating
- Sellotape for fixing the ‘cone’ together.
Instructions:
Work in pairs to make a cone hat for each other with a
Christmas message to wear for the CreativiTEA
It’s a wrap game!
You will need:
- Pre-loved toys (asked for in invitation)
- Wrapping paper
- String/ribbon (no sellotape allowed)
Instructions
- Work as a table team!
- Have a timed challenge for wrapping all the gifts on the table and placing under the tree,
- Gifts need to be labelled with appropriate age the toy is suitable for.
- Winner is the team that gets all toys wrapped and placed under tree.
- You can judge the quality of the wrapping too!
Paper Chains of Hope
You will need:
- Paper chain strips of coloured paper
- Pens
- Sellotape
Instructions
- Make a festive hand-made paper chain.
- Write Christmas message of love and hope on each chain
- Join together as a table and together with other tables to make a whole CreativiTEA paper chain of love and hope. Leave this to decorate the Church/Community Space you are using.
